Free online schema markup tools

These free online schema markup generators build and check structured data, the schema.org JSON-LD that describes a page to search engines. There are four: a JSON-LD generator and validator that builds Article, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, Organization and WebSite markup from a form and checks pasted markup, an article schema generator for Article, NewsArticle and BlogPosting with several authors and images, an FAQ schema generator that turns question and answer rows into FAQPage markup, and a breadcrumb schema generator that writes a trail as BreadcrumbList. All four work inside this browser tab, so nothing you type or paste is sent anywhere.

What schema markup can and cannot do

Structured data tells a search engine what a page holds in a form a program can read: who wrote an article, where a page sits in the site, which name a site goes by. Google's documentation for each type says which properties it requires and which it recommends.

The JSON-LD Generator and Validator checks markup against rules written from those pages, dated, with every finding naming its source. Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema Markup Validator stay the authority, and correct markup is never a promise of a search feature.

The Article Schema Generator follows Google's Article page, which names no required property and recommends seven, from headline to author.url. It writes each date with the offset its time zone had on that day, so the offsets stay right across a daylight saving change, and it puts every author in an entry of their own.

The Breadcrumb Schema Generator follows Google's breadcrumb page: at least two breadcrumbs, each with a position, a name and a full address, which only the last may leave out. Google shows breadcrumbs on desktop results only, and the trail should also appear on the page.

The FAQ Schema Generator is the special case. Google stopped showing the FAQ rich result in May 2026 and removed its FAQ documentation, so that page checks FAQPage against schema.org alone, filters answer HTML by its own short list, and starts by asking whether you need the markup at all.
