Organize PDF pages
Put the pages of a PDF in a new order, delete the ones you do not need and duplicate the ones you want twice. Each page shows as a small picture with buttons to move it, and any change can be undone. Your browser reads and saves the file itself, so nothing is uploaded, and it is free, with no sign up and no watermark.

Your files never leave your device
One PDF file, up to 100 megabytesLimits: One PDF of up to 100 MB and 500 pages, saved as a new PDF of up to 500 pages and 150 MB, copies included. Larger input is refused with a message.
File to organize
Pages of the new PDF
Instead of the buttons, type the page numbers of your file in the order you want, with ranges such as 4-9. A page you name twice is copied, and a page you leave out is deleted.

How to use the Organize PDF
- Drop a PDF on the box above, or click the box to pick one. The tool checks the file and shows one tile per page.
- Move a page with its Left, Right, Start and End buttons, or drag it with a mouse.
- Use Duplicate or Delete on one page, or tick several pages and use the buttons above the tiles.
- Or type the whole order in Pages in this order, such as 3, 1-2, and choose Use this order.
- Choose Save organized PDF, then download the new file.
Worked example
Load the example to see the tool without a PDF of your own. It draws a five page slide deck in this tab whose closing slide came out first and whose last page is blank, then types the order 2-4, 1. Choose Save organized PDF and the result reads:
example-slides.pdf: 5 pages, A4 landscape Pages in this order: 2-4, 1
- Pages
- 4
- Pages deleted
- 1
- File size
- 2.80 KB (2,865 bytes)
How to read the results
- Pages of the new PDF
- The line above the tiles counts the pages, those left out and the copies. Below it, the order is written as page numbers of your file, such as 2-4, 1, in the same form the text box takes, so you can copy it.
- Pages
- How many pages the saved file has, copies included.
- Pages deleted
- How many pages of your file are not in the new one.
- File size
- The size of the new file, rounded and then in exact bytes. A copy adds little, because it shares its page's content.
How this tool works and its limitations
Nothing is downloaded until you add a file. Then the page fetches pdf-lib, an open source PDF library, and a background worker checks your file with it: the %PDF- marker in its first 1,024 bytes, whether it opens without a password, how many pages it has and how each one is turned. Once the check passes, the page fetches pdf.js, Mozilla's open source PDF reader, which draws a page 160 pixels wide only when its tile comes near the screen, two pages at a time, and keeps that small picture.
When you save, the worker reads the file again and copies the pages into a new document in your order, a duplicated page once for each place. Before copying, it points links at page numbers instead of pages and gives each page, and each drawing inside it, only the resources its drawing names; afterwards it removes anything that still points to a deleted page, such as a reply to a note there, and drops every object the new file does not use. Both libraries and their licenses are on the open source licenses page.
- Reorders, deletes and duplicates whole pages; large files show their page pictures progressively, a few at a time as you scroll.
- It does not turn, crop or change what is on a page; Rotate PDF turns pages.
- Bookmarks follow their pages, but document scripts, page labels, named destinations and attached files are not copied; a link that jumps to a named place is pointed at that place's page instead.
- A digital signature is removed, since it only covers the file exactly as it was signed.
- A link to a deleted page is removed, and a link to a page that appears more than once leads to its first place.
- A page you keep whose drawing unpacks to more than 64 MB, or is stored in a way the tool cannot read, stops the save with a message naming it.
- One PDF of up to 100 MB and 500 pages per job, saved as a new PDF of up to 500 pages and 150 MB, copies included.
Features
- Six buttons on every page, each named for the page it acts on, so everything works with a keyboard or a screen reader.
- Select pages with check boxes, Select all or Shift, then move, duplicate or delete them together.
- Undo and Redo go back up to 100 steps, and Reset order returns to the order of your file.
- Nothing to pay and nothing to sign up for, with no watermark and no daily cap.
Moving pages without a mouse
Every tile has a check box and six buttons. Left and Right move the page one place, Start and End send it to either end, Duplicate puts a copy right after it, and Delete takes it out. Each button is named for its page, such as Move page 3 left, and after every change a status line says what happened, for example Page 3 moved to position 2 of 5, which a screen reader reads aloud. Focus stays with the page you moved, so pressing the same button again keeps it moving. For a long document, typing the order is quicker: in a 15 page file, 1-10, 15, 11-14 moves the last page up to eleventh place.
What the new file keeps
Pages are copied, not redrawn, so text stays selectable and pictures keep every pixel. A copy made with Duplicate is a page of its own with the same content and rotation, and its links and form fields work on both copies, a field showing one value in both places. Links to a deleted page are removed, and a link to a page that now appears twice leads to its first place. Bookmarks follow their pages into the new order; those of deleted pages are dropped. The title and author stay. Document scripts and page labels are not carried over, and neither is a digital signature.
Deleted means gone
The new file is built only from the pages you keep. Before copying, each page, and every drawing inside it, is cut down to the resources its own drawing names, and a reply loses its link to a note on a deleted page. In tests with a word unique to each page in its text, pictures, notes, form values and bookmarks, no word of a deleted page was left in the result. A font or picture shared with a deleted page is copied whole.
Frequently asked questions
How do I change the order of pages in a PDF?
Add the file, move pages with the buttons on each tile or by dragging them, and choose Save organized PDF. Above the tiles, the new order is listed as page numbers before you save.
Can I delete several pages at once?
Yes. Tick the check box under each page, or tick one and then hold Shift on another to select every page between them, and choose Delete. At least one page must stay.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The pages are drawn and the new file is made in this tab, so your file never leaves your device and there is no copy on a server to delete.
Why do some page pictures appear late?
Pictures are drawn a few at a time, only for pages near the screen, so a long or heavy file stays responsive. The page number shows until its picture is ready, and Show page pictures switches them off for a plain list.
Can I organize a password protected PDF?
No. A file that needs a password is refused, and so is one that opens freely but limits printing or copying with an owner password, because the new file would quietly lose those limits.
How many pages can the file have?
Up to 500 pages in a file of up to 100 MB. The new PDF may also hold up to 500 pages, copies included, and up to 150 MB.
