Does a JPG make a good source for an icon?
It works, but a JPG with a busy background can look cluttered at small icon sizes like 16 pixels. Simple, high contrast source images convert to the clearest icons; crop tightly to the subject before converting if the source photo has a lot going on around it.

Which sizes should I include?
